MX Executor
Run Windows, Linux and macOS programs and games, unmodified, on whichever machine you have. No virtual machine and no guest operating system: MX Executor runs each program directly, translating its code only when the processor differs, with graphics on the GPU.

Built for somewhere else. Running here.
Windows, Linux and macOS programs.
Programs for x86-64 and Arm from Windows, Linux and macOS, including ones built for the system you are already on. Install a program with its own installer and it appears in the launcher with its name and icon.
Games on the GPU.
Direct3D 11, Direct3D 12, Vulkan and OpenGL are translated onto whatever the machine runs natively, Metal, Vulkan or Direct3D 12, shaders included, and rendered by the native GPU driver. Translated shaders are cached between launches.
Launch it however you like.
Open a program from the launcher, double-click it, choose Run with MX Executor from its right-click menu, or start it from the terminal with mxexec.
The program runs. Nothing boots.
Translated only when it has to be.
When a program was built for a different processor, MX Executor analyses its machine code and translates it into optimised native code, x86-64 to Arm and Arm to x86-64 alike. When it was built for the processor you have, it runs as it is. Translations are cached per binary, so a program starts faster the next time it runs.
Native where it counts.
System calls become lightweight interception points, and library calls go to native libraries through compatibility wrappers. As little as possible is emulated.
Behaves like the real machine.
Each program sees its own memory as it would on real hardware. Self-modifying code, JIT compilers and programs that read their own code run as written.
Native windows.
Windowed programs open in their own native windows, with the look of the system they were built for. Command-line programs run in your terminal with their output and exit codes intact.
Shared or isolated.
Programs live in containers you can share between them or keep apart. Start one empty or from a base system such as Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian or Arch, configure it per program, and clean it up when you are done.
Any program. Any machine.
The program and the machine are separate choices. MX Executor runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, on Arm and x86-64, and every program runs on every one of them: natively when the processor matches, translated when it does not.
Early Access
Apple Silicon only for now
MX Executor is in Early Access. Builds move quickly, support for programs and graphics APIs is still landing, and you should expect bugs.
Your licence is not capped at one major release. It carries straight through to the full public release at no extra cost.
Licensing
MX Executor licences are perpetual for a major release. A new licence includes the latest major release and remains valid indefinitely for it; upgrading to the next major costs the same as a new licence.
